About us

The St Patrick’s Law Students’ Society (‘SPLSS’) was founded in 2013 with the inception of the Thomas More Law School at the Australian Catholic University’s Melbourne Campus. It is the peak advocacy body for law students.

Over the past seven years, the Society has grown exponentially, stamping its footprint in the Law School arena with the development of its mooting program - demonstrating prominence on the national and international stage - as well as a range of diversified events, pertaining to wellbeing, competitions, professional development and social events. Each year our membership numbers grow, along with its events catering for the growing population of the Thomas More School of Law.

Mission Statement

The St Patrick's Law Students’ Society is a student-run voluntary organisation committed to helping Australian Catholic University law students (Melbourne) engage in their university tertiary experience by providing a diverse range of professional and social opportunities.

President's welcome

Imogen Power

Welcome to the St Patrick’s Law Students’ Society webpage!

My name is Tyra O’Neill and I am the 2022 President of the St Patrick’s Law Students’ Society, otherwise known as ‘SPLSS’.

Formed in 2013, SPLSS has developed a strong foundation and now facilitates a range of events that aim to enrich the lives of the Law Students on the Melbourne ACU Campus.

We work closely with the Thomas More Law School to provide opportunities for students to learn and grow - while also improving their graduate attributes and overall employability.

Our initiatives cover several areas, such as competitions, professional development, wellbeing and social events. In particular, we are proud to have fostered our reputation both internally and externally, through our strong Mooting culture and our connections with firms.

Throughout the year, all our publications, event information, links, and contact details will be made available to you here.

I am incredibly passionate about everything SPLSS offers, and I hope that this webpage provides you with the resources to ensure your University experience is a positive one.

I encourage you to take a look around and bookmark the page so you can always come back!

Sincerely, Tyra O’Neill
President | St Patrick’s Law Students’ Society
